I maintain, and make available a comprehensive library of print and virtual resources to assist the design process and catalyze cleint creativity. These resources and refrence materilas are availble at the office by appointment only.


Price Planning

Provided on a fee for service arrangement, Price Planning leads to more satisfied customers by addressing most design and construction decisions in advance. Price Planning: insures understanding of the pricing implications of each design decision by eliminating ambiguity; Provides alternate solutions to client's criteria along with detailed pricing for each alternate; Clarifies the complete construction specification and reduces conflict between trades. Most importantly, it insures that you satisfy your requirements within your budget.

Price price planing is a proven alternative and compliment to competitive bidding. It provides substantially more detail about material & labor costs, alternative fabrication & joinery techniques, substitute products and hardware, finishing alternatives and other items than does a standard quotation. Moreover, if you choose to go to competitive bid after completing the Price Planning Process, you are assured that all prospective vendors bids will be comparable.

Though each Price planning Agreement is tailored to the needs of the Client, a typical price planning agreements would include the Craftsman providing the following services and deliverables:

  1. Assist client in detailed planning of Project.
  2. Develop and produce draft design and schematics sufficient for project estimation.
  3. Deliver Itemized estimates of labor costs and & material schedules including a preliminary price for entire project based on draft plans.
  4. Review of draft plans in detail with client and other contractors.
  5. Provide up to 8 hours of review and discussion of draft design and construction details w/ Client prior to the production of final plans.
  6. Produce final plans based on review sessions.
  7. Deliver a final construction proposal for entire project based on final plans as endorsed by Client (price will be based on documented and detailed assumptions).
  8. Presentation of proposal to Client (with architect, contractor and or engineer present, if owner’s wish) including detailed breakdown of both preliminary and final price.
